Claire Schertzing graduated from Kalamazoo College in 2018 with bachelor’s degrees in biology and Spanish before coming to MSU to complete her master of public health. She loved MSU so much that after graduating with her M.P.H. this past summer she decided to stick around to pursue a Ph.D. in epidemiology through the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Her academic interests are in global health and infectious disease, especially neglected tropical diseases.

Schertzing joined the Talent Search staff in 2018 at the beginning of her M.P.H. studies and fell in love with the students and the TS program. She is passionate about helping students to fall in love with learning and to achieve their greatest potential through education. Her favorite part of her job is getting to interact with students and spark their interest in education. When she’s not studying, she enjoys running, cooking and baking, and traveling the world.
