An intensive program serving highly motivated students in grades 9-12 to transition to post-secondary institutions



Early intervention for students starting in 7th grade to first year of college creating early awareness and readiness for college

The MI GEAR UP (M.I.G.U.) Program coordinators meet with groups of student participants during the school day to discuss Saturday Workshops and other educational opportunities available to them through the M.I.G.U. Program, as well as other academically oriented youth programs or college preparation programs in the Greater Lansing Area and the Southeastern region of Michigan (including Albion, Detroit, and Jackson). Outreach opportunities are typically held in school classrooms and cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • M.I.G.U. Program Information
  • Saturday Workshop Information (& Permission Slips)
  • Academic Advising
  • Mentoring
  • Test Preparation (SAT, ACT, and other testing in general)
  • Financial Aid Counseling
  • Educational Transitions
