About KCP

We are a team of educators and professionals who serve the Lansing community, approximately 850 students a year. The program involves multiple coordinated components designed to increase the enrollment of underrepresented students in higher education (Latinx, African American, and Native American).

KCP is funded by the State of Michigan with distinct, legislated goals. We provide students with information on opportunities that are afforded by a college education, requirements for admission into 2- and 4-year institutions, financial aid, and support on college preparation.

Students who participate in KCP can engage in a summer residency experience, where they spend four days in a college residence hall, taking core courses, and engaging in other activities such as academic skill development, team building, and recreational opportunities. All programs that are provided or hosted by KCP are free to students and families.
